This Opportunity
Louis Berger Services, Inc. (LBS) is seeking a full-time Roadway Supervisor. The Roadway Supervisor serves in a critical leadership role in the project management team supporting the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The Roadway Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project and serves as a leader in safety, quality, schedule, and performance. The Supervisor shall be exclusive to this Contract and have direct oversight of daily staff activities.
Your Impact- Ensures all Contract requirements and performance-based outcomes are met on the corridor
- Maintains a consistent daily presence along the corridor reporting deficiencies for repair or replacement
Provides daily oversight of the company's field operations, to include resource allocation, activity scheduling, and workload prioritization. - Split time roughly 50% leading or overseeing personnel in the field and 50% office work following up on documentation and paperwork (scheduling, timesheets, work plans, safety briefs, etc.)
- Implementation of the company safety program to include updating the project safety plan, conducting safety training, regulatory compliance, and promoting the overall safe operation and culture of the company.
- Development and ownership of weekly and monthly work plans for maintenance of highway and bridge infrastructure assets. Assist with quarterly and annual work plan development.
- Ensures transportation assets are maintained in a condition that is compliant with the VDOT maintenance rating program (MRP) requirements, standards, and specifications, and reporting requirements.
- Be responsible for written and verbal communication as necessary to plan and accomplish daily work.
- Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders, capture production, perform quality control, and complete reports.
- Understand and abide by ethical behavior and integrity standards, per Louis Berger's Code of Business Conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Required Qualifications
- Must be knowledgeable of transportation maintenance and have a minimum of seven (7) years' experience with two (2) years in documented experience in highway maintenance or construction as a supervisor demonstrating leadership and management with similar size projects. Experience in a state or local DOT or private toll authority a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of field operations supervisory experience acceptable. Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience and familiarity with field operations and construction or maintenance equipment and vehicles. CDL Class A license a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and common software applications.
- Shall have completed the Basic and Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control, NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 training and the VDOT Level 1 Incident Commander Training course within one (1) month of assuming the role.
- Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Comply with Company Drug and Alcohol policy
- Must be able to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
