Overall, Purpose and Objective of Position
This position operates machinery in the cook, distillation, evaporation, and centrifuge areas of a dry mill ethanol plant. Primary functions are to operate machines and the computer control system for the plant; test and make adjustments to the equipment in order to optimize plant efficiencies; operate cook/fermentation areas; operate machinery for distillation and energy center; and to ensure that the operation of such machinery remains in compliance with all applicable Company standards and government regulations.

Basic qualification: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred qualifications: Technical degree or professional certification Valid forklift certification
Experience
Basic qualification: 1 year of experience in an industrial processing facility or in a machine shop
Preferred qualification: Experience in the ethanol industry

Equipment Used
Working Conditions
Continuous 24/7 plant operation with 12-hour rotational shifts, as well as evening and weekend call-in requirements when needed. Regular exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions; regular exposure to gases, vapors, dust and odors; occasional exposure to areas with wet floors and high volume of noise, heavy lifting of manufacturing materials and products is required. Position will require regular stair climbing and extended periods of walking and standing in order to access and occasionally work in remote areas of the plant, extended heights and confined spaces. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn in compliance with Company standards and government regulations. Call-ins or the extension of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies.

Operates machinery and controls for the production process of a dry mill ethanol plant. Follows supervisor's directions to ensure peak production efficiencies and product quality. Employs an understanding of Company standards and government regulations with respect to areas of responsibility to ensure ongoing compliance. Participates in plant startups and shut downs as directed.
