About Pennington Biomedical Research Center
At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity,
diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical is a campus of
Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research.
Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a world-renowned academic research institute that is
exceptionally well equipped for studying the fundamental mechanisms driving changes in metabolic
health. The Center includes three Scientific Divisions: Basic Science, Clinical Research, and
Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at
Pennington is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers, including NORC, COBRE, and LACaTS
centers.
The research enterprise at the center includes approximately 65 faculty and more than 20
post-doctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories supported by lab technicians,
nurses, dietitians and support personnel, and 13 highly specialized core service facilities.

The Coordinator will contact research participants to schedule visits, remind them of existing visits, and coordinate communication between study sites. She will organize and manage data related to study recruitment, retention, and completion of procedures. She will coordinate the transfer of data and information related to study participation between PBRC and other study sites.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or other health-related field; experience with study coordination activities within longitudinal epidemiological health studies; demonstrated communication skills and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
Specific expertise with the Bogalusa Heart Study; understanding of PBRC’s clinical data management systems.
Physical Abilities
The job can be completed almost entirely from a seated position. Occasional walking to meetings is required. No heavy lifting is required.
Working Conditions
The job takes place at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in an office and cubicle setting. Travel to other job performance sites is not expected. Hours are expected to be approximately 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday - Friday. Scheduling flexibility is possible.
