- Performs professional, technical, and administrative work
- Analyzes data and conducts audits and reviews that provide command staff with thorough and timely evaluations of departmental performance based on state law, local ordinances, requirements of the Department of Justice, departmental policy, and training
- Conducts complex, specialized law enforcement internal performance audits and reviews to determine compliance with departmental regulations
- Conducts field work investigations, data analysis, and interviews required to accomplish the audits
- Conducts audits of incident reports, case files, search warrants, wearable video systems and use of force reports
- Improves data collection and monitoring efforts to provide meaningful performance metrics
- Conducts job audits, interviews employees and supervisors, analyzes position questionnaires, reviews performance appraisals, and obtains information to prepare recommendations regarding employees
- Analyzes, researches, compiles data and submits recommendations on departmental performance
- Provides technical assistance and instruction and explains policies, procedures, ordinances, and laws
- Explains procedures to employees and prepares recommendations, correspondence, and documents to implement changes
- Participates in and/or observes departmental training as necessary
- Develops and designs audit and review work plans, project scopes, methodologies, and compliance testing instruments to facilitate internal audits
- Produces and communicates written and oral reports on audit results for internal and external use
- Identifies methods for improving the operations of the department
- Performs related work

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening
- Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test
- Must provide one's own source of transportation
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must work a varied schedule
- Applicants who have bought, sold, or used marijuana within one year of application, or have bought, sold or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified
- Must not have retired, resigned, or separated from employment with a law enforcement agency under investigation or due to pending or final disciplinary actions
