**This position will require travel via car and plane 2-3 days per work week in a multi-state region (typically traveling 1-2 weeks each month but travel will vary)
BASIC PURPOSE : The individual will be primarily responsible for managing our northeast travel stops environmental compliance programs that are already established. Primary duties will include performing environmental regulatory compliance audits and training store personnel. The regional environmental manager will communicate with upper management routinely as to the progress of duties will be required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manages the environmental programs that are already established
Performs environmental compliance regulatory audits on stores
Prepares stores for federal, state and local regulatory inspections
Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
Provide environmental training to site personnel
Provide basic OSHA training to site personnel
Trouble-shoot Veeder-Root Alarms
Maintain environmental databases
Obtain regulatory permits
Schedule regulatory testing
Other duties assigned as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education:
HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a hard science discipline, such as: Environmental Science/Management, Biology, Geology or an engineering discipline. An environmentally related professional designation is preferred, but not required.
Experience:
At least 2-5 years of experience in the environmental regulatory field is required.
Experience in report writing and interfacing with federal, state and local environmental compliance regulators is required.
Advanced knowledge of UST and AST regulations and general working knowledge of the clean air act, clean water act, RCRA and OSHA is preferred.
Experience with UST and AST fueling system equipment, water well and sewer systems and storm water management is preferred.
Veeder-Root technician license is highly preferred.

Soft Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills and a professional demeanor, excellent organization, planning, time management and follow-up skills, able to work independently, and multi-task.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Will require ground and air travel, with overnight stays.
The individual will work remotely/office out of their home and will be provided with a laptop computer, cell phone, fax machine and general office supplies.
Some travel and work in the northeast area will also be required.
A company vehicle will be provided for business travel.
