Concrete Laborer - Construction Superintendent

Loveless Commercial Contracting is a commercial general contractor and a cast in place concrete subcontractor. As a general contractor Loveless can take a project from its inception all the way to completion. As a concrete subcontractor Loveless has worked with numerous general contractors to provide cast in place concrete foundations, walls, slabs and site concrete. Loveless performs work in nearly every market sector including industrial, commercial, retail, institutional, medical, office and sporting/outdoors.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Laborer to join our construction team as a superintendent. The ideal candidate will have experience in concrete work and a strong work ethic to contribute to our projects effectively.

Responsibilities:

Manage all structural concrete work to include foundations, elevated formwork, walls/other formwork, flatwork, rough/fine grading, layout and controls, placement, consolidating and finishing concrete best practices.

•Must understand basic concrete principles such as concrete mix designs, admixtures, curing, cold and hot weather procedures for concrete placing and finishing, formwork systems, etc. as well as concrete calculations for pours.

•Capable of submittal and shop drawing review process (Such as: rebar, tendons, stud-rails, concrete etc.) Verify that all required shop drawings, plans, mix designs, special material approvals, traffic control plans, and other documents necessary for assigned phases of work have been submitted and approved prior to start of the work.

•Capable of basic layout of buildings using surveying instruments to square of buildings, layout footing lines, etc.

•Properly code field delivery tickets and employee timecards as required and turn them into the General Superintendent/Project Manager/Payroll Manager promptly.

•Maintain and submit schedules; communicate updates and impacts to schedule with General Superintendent/PM daily.

•Manage field labor and provide field training.

•Monitoring and Forecasting of man/crew hours.

•Schedule pump trucks, material, and equipment deliveries

•Adhere to safety standards and ensure that trade and subcontractor site safety is incompliance with Loveless Commercial Inc.’s standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

•Identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions.

•Oversee the work to ensure installation is in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents while maintaining quality control for work performed by employees and subcontractors. (QA/QC compliance).

Qualifications

•Experienced in Medium to Large Scale structural concrete projects.

•Minimum of 5 years’ experience professional experience within the construction and concrete industry experience preferred. (Others are still encouraged to apply.)

•Travel may be required depending on current markets.

•Proficient with Outlook, Excel, MS Project, BlueBeam a plus.

•Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and the project schedule.

•Solid written and oral communication skills. Bi-Lingual, English & Spanish, is a plus.

•Must be competent at performing complete and accurate project take offs.

•Proficiency with industry practices, processes, and standards.
