Lovingly has tremendous plans for retail growth with a goal of making it easy for gifters to send meaningful floral arrangements and gifts. In this role, you'll be our head designer, manage day-to-day operations, and be the primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service.
This role reports to the Director of Retail Operations.
What you’ll do
- Design
- Designing aesthetically pleasing floral arrangements for display and for various occasions that adhere to commonly acceptable floral design principles.
- Management
- Managing staff and overseeing all of the daily operations of the store including opening and closing.
- Assists with the hiring and onboarding process for new employees
- Assist in order processing (routing, quality control, and wire-service communications).
- Performing daily inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
- Ensure proper staff is ready and available for effective and efficient processing of flower truck delivery.
- Customer Service
- Providing excellent customer service and build relationships with customers
- Finance
- Maintain accurate financial records and adhere to budgets.
- Sales/Retail
- Responsible for sales and profitability and maximizing sales and profits through effective sales techniques and promotional activities.
- Weddings and events
- Plan and execute events and promotions to drive business growth
- Holding wedding & events consultations as needed.
- Managing, setting up, arranging and tearing down of the florist portion of weddings and events (These are typically on weekends)
- 5 years of retail management experience.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Google Chrome).
- Previous experience or training as a floral clerk or designer.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work extended hours during floral holidays (primarily Valentines Day & Mothers Day).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20lbs and occasionally lift up to 35lbs.
- Prior experience in customer service and interacting with customers and co-workers.
- 5 days PTO in year 1, 10 days in year 2—use them however you want!
