OVERVIEW:
This description is intended to outline the primary responsibilities, general nature and level of work being performed by teammates assigned to this position. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper Liquor Dept. Manager conditions. Serves as a model for customer service and other vital behaviors, and instills this value in all teammates. guiding principles, core values, and vision.

Teammates Supervised:
None.

Inter-Relationships:
Frequent contact with all teammates, customers, corporate office and vendors. Occasional contact with teammates from other locations.

JOB DUTIES:

- Manage the business aspects of the liquor department, such as keeping a current liquor license
posted, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals. Assisting with training and hiring staff to provide excellent service to customers.

- Order and maintain inventory control to ensure product quality turnover for maximum sales and a gross profit.

- Oversee inventory of liquor department and bar. Make effective and objective decisions regarding operational choices in work procedures. Oversee inventory of the bar, recommend new products to Director of Alcohol, scheduling and other situations where multiple factors must be considered and weighed to maximize operating results.

- Control level of damaged and spoiled/out of date products and ensures proper disposition of same according to company policy.

- Maintain a friendly selling approach to customers by all bar teammates.

- Ensure that requests, and complaints are handled promptly and courteously.

- Maintain cigar case and wine chiller.

- Ensure that requests, and complaints are handled promptly and courteously.

- Check, and verify, liquor products received to ensure that products are listed on vendor invoices, confirm that items are delivered, check product for quality, count or weight conditions. Turn in all legibly signed invoices to Receiving for payment. Report any issues to the Store Manager and Director of Alcohol.

- Work area maintained appropriately to ensure a safe work environment and equipment for teammates and customers.

- Ensure that the interior decorations are maintained as established by the Director of Alcohol.

- Maintain accurate wood fixture cleaning schedule

- Report any broken, damaged equipment or fixture issues to Store Manager

- Prepares monthly wine and beer selections to include ad flyer features

- Keeping accurate refrigeration temperature log

- Frequent cost and retail analysis of new wine and beer offerings

- Must be able to perform other duties, assist Bar and Front End when needed, and build displays.

- Must be able to unload trucks, breakdown load and stock product.

- Communicate and coordinate with Store Manager to provide feedback from the department

- Follow approved procedures for receiving product, pricing, marking and restocking to ensure quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.

- Conduct department walks to ensure Alcohol Gaming Division (AGD) compliance and all alcohol regulations are being followed.

- Responsible for efficient and effective delegation of duties to achieve maximum performance of vendors including proper follow-up to assure satisfactory performance and results.

- Responsible for maintaining signs, pricing, refrigerated cases and display shelves, by implementing scheduled inspections of those areas.

- Responsible for department compliance of company policies, programs, procedures and guidelines.

- Works with vendors to identify the root causes of issues and inefficiencies.

- Adhere to all compliance of all company policies, programs, procedures and guidelines.

- Constantly interacts with customers.

- Holiday, weekend and evening event work is required in this position.

. Ensures that all loss prevention policies and goals are maintained at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Training and Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required. College background preferred. 3 years experience in bar operations. Completion of a management training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

- Knowledge of various liquor, beers and wine products. Knowledge and ability to operate bar equipment. Ability to read and write English. Good customer relations skills.

Ability to calculate gross margins and retail prices. Ability to manage effectively.

Licenses, Registration and Certification:
- Must have a current alcohol server certificate prior to employment. While on the Signature store training computer, and on company time, the Signature store will pay the cost to obtain Beer Cicerone certification completed within the first 90 days of employment. Test preparation will be outside the work schedule. Computer skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent exposure to refrigerated storage areas and damp, humid conditions. Works on wet or slippery surfaces. Noise level normally moderate. Can be extreme when power tools or other equipment are in use. Subject to hazards when operating bar equipment. Subject to communicable disease.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Heavy work- lifting 50 to 100 pounds, and/or in excess of 20 pounds to move objects. Requires walking and / or standing up to a significant degree. Must be able to climb, stand, bend, push or pull, twist, grasp, squeeze, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, handle, finger and feel. Assistance required if unable to safely lift beer kegs. Subject to psychological stress.
