Operations Manager
The warehouse Operations Manager must possess strong customer service skills and a good working knowledge of all warehouse operations including the necessary management skills to hire, train, assess, lead and motivate warehouse and driver level team members. Strong organizational skills will be required in order to manage the flow of product both in and out and schedule the staff needed in order to provide the high level of customer service we are known for and expect from all of our locations.
Promote and ensure our customers receive the high level of customer service we require from all levels of the team. Hire, train, assess, lead and motivate up to 25 employees. Strong organizational skills. General computer skills. Promote the company’s safety programs and enforce safety guidelines. Strong communication skills with local staff regarding new policies and/or procedures. Light travel may be required. Communication skills with management team regarding challenges so assistance can be provided promptly.
- 3 years’ experience in wholesale distribution management. Ability to perform heavy work -- routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs.; duties may include prolonged standing (up to 8 hours), sitting (up to 3 hours), frequent bending, twisting and reaching (up to 4 hours), and occasional climbing on stairs, ladders or trucks (up to 2 hours). Ability to perform data entry in a computer, and extract information on orders. Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Must be able to work flexible hours necessary to meet customer and management expectations, and respond after normal work hours, when necessary. High school diploma or equivalent. Some college work or degree preferred. Must be able to work in a warehouse environment in temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to over 110 degrees. Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
