Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to serve as a Software Engineer within our Platform Core Infrastructure team contributing to the design, development, and support of an enterprise wide microservices platform. This individual will work closely with both architects and engineers to design, build, and iterate on a suite of automation which is responsible for the infrastructure setup, configuration, and integrations.
What You'll Do
This role assumes a high comfort level working in an iterative and fast paced agile environment. The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. The ideal Software Engineering candidate for Platform’s Core Infra team requires a strong passion and drive for automation, consumer experience, and improvement.
Where You’ll Be
Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.
Lowe’s supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub
Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
Hands-on experience in any backend language, preferred Golang.
Hands-on experience in any of React, NodeJS, HTML, CSS.
Experience in developing or maintaining web applications on on-premises datacenter or on any public Cloud.
Experience working in micro services Architecture.
Experience in application capacity concepts, benchmarking, trending, and monitoring.
Experience in using Git, Jenkins and similar CI/CD tools.
Experience of platform level concerns, such as configuration management, network request routing, blue/green or canary
2 years of experience in software development or a related field
2 years of experience in database technologies
1 year of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
2 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization
4 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software
4 years of experience with technical documentation in a software development environment
2 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
2 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports
Experience with application and integration middleware
Experience with database technologies
