Industrial Distribution Buying/Purchasing

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Industrial Distribution Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining relationships with suppliers, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Additionally, experience or familiarity with Prophet21 software is considered a strong asset for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for company operations while considering quality, price, and delivery.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and resolve any issues that may arise.

· Monitor inventory levels and track usage patterns to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained without excess.

· Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements and provide support as necessary.

· Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

· Utilize Prophet21 software for purchase order management, inventory tracking, and reporting purposes.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and inventory management.

· Stay informed about industry developments, new products, and technologies relevant to our business.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in industrial distribution purchasing or procurement roles.

· Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency in using procurement software and tools; experience with Prophet21 software is highly desirable.

· Solid understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities.

· Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to purchasing and inventory management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
