Duties and Responsibilities
This position involves maintaining a competitive, externally funded research program and participating in undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching. Candidates will contribute to teaching inorganic chemistry and/or other portions of the curriculum (based on the candidate's preference and expertise). In addition to teaching and pursuing their own scholarship, candidates are expected to involve undergraduate students in research and to engage in service for the department, college, and university.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field and have completed or currently hold a postdoctoral appointment. Evidence of significant scholarly activity in both the prior doctoral and postdoctoral positions is expected. Candidates in all areas of inorganic chemistry are encouraged to apply. Candidates in adjacent fields of materials science, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry with appropriate teaching experience in inorganic chemistry will also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for classroom instructional excellence and a strong ethic of student mentorship or provide evidence of such capacities. The candidate also should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
