General Summary
The HR manager will focus on employment related functions. Works with internal and external resources to develop and implement policies and procedures for recruitment, indoctrination, equal opportunity, salary and benefits administration, employee relations and regulatory compliance.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages the efforts of the Recruiter and HR Assistant to establish and maintain effective recruitment and hiring activities to fulfill LSI's staffing needs.
- Meets monthly with managers to share information regarding personnel and staffing activity to include the identification of future hiring needs, and general personnel and employment issues.
- Responsible for processing of transactions (new hires, status changes, performance appraisals, payroll changes, benefits, terminations, etc.) in the Company's HRIS (CostPoint and Talent Management).
- Conducts EEO training such as Effective Interviewing Skills and Interview Techniques.
- Investigates employee relations complaints and grievances to protect the rights of both parties and to ensure mutual resolution to conflicts.
- Maintains responsibility for records retention of documents and files pertaining to the employment function (e.g., personnel, I-9, applicant tracking, selection or lay off documentation).
- Manages the daily activities of the Recruiter and is responsible for hiring, training, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and maintaining morale and motivation.
- Ensures all mandatory posters on federal and/or state laws are publicly posted.
- Assists Compensation and Benefits team to analyze, install and administer fringe benefits plans. Assists with annual renewals and Open Enrollments.
- Assists with updating the Wage and Salary Administration program.
- Responsible for maintaining a productive and harmonious work environment to support LSI's Mission and Vision.
- Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
- Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Assists with special events, such as vendor fairs, flu shots and breakfasts.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems of the Human Resources staff.
