Job Summary
The organization seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising and development efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development strategy to support our mission and expand our impact. This role requires a strategic thinker passionate about nonprofit work and a proven track record in fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and community organizations.
- Lead grant writing efforts, including researching funding opportunities, preparing proposals, and managing grant reporting requirements.
- Oversee planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to identify fundraising priorities and set annual fundraising goals.
- Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to enhance donor engagement and retention.
- Manage the development budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and donor engagement for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising and development.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities to increase visibility and build strategic partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and development, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and community organizations.
- Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events.
- Proficiency in using donor management software and other relevant tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Passion for the organization’s mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Salary : $115,000 - $120,000
