Job Title: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Reports To: Director of Agronomy
Supervises: Maintenance Foreman; Pesticides Application Specialist; Irrigation Specialist; Equipment Operator; Groundskeepers; Greenskeepers
Job Summary: Manage and maintain golf course, practice facilities, Club grounds, related golf equipment, and staff.
Interaction: Frequent interaction with crew and vendors | Occasional Interaction with members and guests

Club History: Lubbock Country Club was established as the premier private club of Lubbock in 1921. LCC lies in the historic Blackwater Draw, about three miles north of downtown Lubbock and Texas Tech University. The course was originally built for golf, hunting, and fishing, and has evolved into the golf and racquet Club it is today. For members, LCC has been a second home for over 100 years; members are able to enjoy their time out on the course or court and then grab a meal from one of our two restaurants. Essential Functions:
- Maintains all grounds and course maintenance equipment
- Schedules, trains, supervises, and evaluates all personnel assigned to department
- Assists director with all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees and other facilities on the golf course
- Supervises the operation of the equipment repair shop
- Records all maintenance on course
- Selects and prepares proper fertilizers and nutrients for all flora and fauna
- Develops and maintains drainage, irrigation, and watering systems
- Maintains golf course in proper playing condition
- Implements and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees, members and guests on course in compliance with local, state and federal laws
- Maintains accurate work records for all personnel in the department
- Communicates as necessary with golf and tennis professionals to discuss conditions of facilities, maintenance plans and scheduled events
- Communicates as necessary with grounds, golf, house committees and/or other applicable committees
- Insures that chemicals, petroleum and other controlled products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintains required records and strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products
- Conducts daily facility security checks ensuring accurate inventory of equipment and keys
- Plans professional development and training activities for subordinates
- Perform all work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Agronomy
- Review timecards for payroll purposes
- Enter updated weekly schedules on Fridays for upcoming week
- Daily review of department timecards and make necessary adjustments for absences, missed punches etc. according to club policies and procedures

- Excellent supervisory skills
- Must have non-commercial pesticide applicators license, from the Texas Department of Agriculture, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

Compensation:
$70,000-$85,000/year
