GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Network Technician II provides high-level PC support, basic server repair and network systems administrative management. This position reports to the LCIS Network Services Team Lead and/or Technical Manager. The incumbent will assist when assigned with planning, recommending, requisitioning, developing, installing, and testing servers, network, and software systems. The incumbent will complete assigned project activities within scope and timeline as directed by the LCIS Technical Manager.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
PC hardware/software configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Server configuration and troubleshooting.
Basic cabling and network wiring.
Installation and configuration of MS Office products, email, printers, file transfer, file sharing, and internet browser.
Diagnosis, routing, and/or resolution of end user requests for technical support.
Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines for solution deployment.
Basic documentation of systems, methods, inventories, and procedures as assigned by the Technical Manager.
Professional and timely communication with co-workers and management on critical issues involving projects and repair work assignments.
Understand and be able to execute the necessary operating procedures for the management of distributed systems, data storage, backups, networks, and the recovery of each of these components.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING & ABILITIES:
Ability to safeguard confidential information when working with other agency data.
Remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
A professional demeanor and approach to work is expected at all times. The Network Technician is expected to be able to address difficult situations in a professional manner.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to trouble shoot problems as they arise.
Excellent work habits, MUST BE PUNCTUAL AND DEPENDABLE
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and follow directions accurately.
Ability to cooperate with co-workers on group projects
Preferred certifications: A , Network , MCP
Meet core skill set assessment for PC Configuration, Network Architecture, Network Configuration and Troubleshooting, Network Wiring, Applications, and Standard Operations.
Experience with Novell Networks and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum required experience with Active Directory, malware/virus removal, printer configuration, experience installing and troubleshooting Windows 10 understanding of basic networking, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
