SUMMARY
The Manager of Prevention and Recovery Services is responsible to facilitate the development, management, and monitoring of substance use and gambling prevention, mental health promotion, and recovery related services and activities. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Programs and Services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Facilitates the development and coordination of a process that assesses areas of need for substance use and gambling prevention, mental health promotion, and recovery services in Lucas County, prioritizes the target communities and/or populations in each of those areas, and recommends allocations for prevention, mental health promotion, and recovery resources based on the prioritization.
2. Identifies and implements opportunities for collaboration with stakeholders to address common concerns consistent with Board priorities as it relates to substance use and gambling prevention and mental health promotion activities: i.e. Lucas County Adult, Youth and Early Childhood Surveys, schools, prevention and suicide coalitions, Youth Advocacy Alliance, etc.
3. Collaborates with the provider network and community stakeholders to ensure that prevention, and mental health promotion and recovery services are responsive to the needs of both consumers and stakeholders and are consistent with current Board priorities.
4. Develop and update a biennial alcohol and other drug prevention and mental health promotion report.
5. Advocates for programming that is focused on current and emerging trends consistent with best practice methodologies, quality and certification standards, utilizing primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention types.
6. Review annual applications, development of targets and performance metrics, and budgets for recommendation for annual prevention, mental health promotion, and recovery support allocations.
7. Monitor program outcomes and provide technical assistance as applicable for improvement.
8. Serves on state and local committees pertaining to substance use and gambling prevention and mental health promotion that are consistent with the Board’s priorities as assigned.
9. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The Manager of Prevention and Recovery Services will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study and appropriate licensure (RN, OCPS, LSW, LPC and/or LCDC.) Requirements also include a minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing, implementing, and administering prevention and recovery support services for the mentally ill and addicted populations. Individuals with a Master’s degree, independent licensure, advanced mediation and facilitation skills, systems planning experience, and excellent communication skills are preferred.
