We are seeking a highly qualified and accomplished professional to join our team as the Director of Cost Optimization. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and play a key part in shaping the financial landscape of our global organization. As the Director of Cost Optimization, you will lead the charge in driving cost efficiency initiatives, overseeing a dedicated team, and collaborating across all function areas of the company to instill a culture of cost-consciousness and continuous improvement.
\n- Take ownership of Cost Optimization function, building a team that will enable financial transparency, set benchmarks, establish accountability, and comprehensively manage costs to drive strategic initiatives
- Partner closely with business partners to understand key cost drivers, providing tactical direction in the development and implementation of cost improvement measures across major operational verticals (e.g., Manufacturing Operations, R&D, G&A, Sales & Service, Vehicle direct cost)
- Co-lead business case development, stakeholder buy-in, and executive alignment for cost optimization initiatives
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive cost optimization roadmap, consolidating, analyzing, and reporting on program progress
- 12 years of experience in cost management, budgeting, financial analysis, with at least 5 years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or technical/analytical related field. MBA preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost management processes and cost structures in transportation or large scale industrial industries
- History of driving large scale cost reduction initiatives in complex organizations
- Proven technical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills, with a high level of independent judgment and creativity
- Experience reporting to the C-suite with excellent executive communication and presence
- Excellent cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $185,000-$264,000
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
