We are looking for a Battery R&D Technician to join our world-class team. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with enthusiasm and fortitude. Is comfortable taking ownership of tasks and working autonomously.

The Role:
  • Use a range of power and hand tools in the assembly of battery modules and packs
  • Operate assembly equipment including proprietary CAN-based development tools
  • Perform electrical tests and diagnostics
  • Retain confidentiality of testing, test procedures, and data at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness of lab space and inventory of parts
  • Work with others in a cross-functional environment and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Working with engineering to fabricate and/or modify system and  subsystem components
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues 
  • Critical thinking skills to work without instruction manuals or workbooks
  • Approach problems in a consistent and systematic way
  • Work autonomously and with a task ownership mindset


Qualifications:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a degreed technician (AA or equivalent ASE certifications) or previous hands-on technician experience
  • Excellent attention to detail while following instructions
  • Expert at using hand tools
  • Experience using electrical test and diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters and resistance testers
  • Basic knowledge and proper handling of battery cells
  • Familiarity with the safety aspect of batteries and battery testing
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word programs


Preferred:
  • Understanding Electrical schematics and capability to create simple test boards
  • High voltage certification
  • Working knowledge of CAN communications
  • Experience building wire harnesses
  • Metal fabrication (welding, milling, lathe)
  • Experience soldering, crimping, splicing electrical wires and components


Education:
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree
  • Relevant Certification

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

·        California (Bay Area) - $29/hr - $40/hr.


Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
