Lucky Star Marketing is a proud family owned and operated business, and has been a leading agricultural grower and distributor of fresh Asian fruits and vegetables for over 40-years (through our founding company Lucky Farms). Our headquarters is located in sunny San Bernardino California and we have farming fields throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crop Management: Develop and implement agronomic strategies for the cultivation of Asian vegetables and fruits, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting.
- Soil and Fertility Management: Conduct soil tests and recommend appropriate amendments to optimize soil health and fertility for Asian crops.
- Pest and Disease Control: Monitor and manage pest and disease risks, utilizing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies specific to Asian produce.
- Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest agricultural research and technologies related to Asian crops, and implement innovative practices to enhance productivity and sustainability.
- Data Analysis: Analyze crop performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to farm workers on best practices for growing and handling Asian produce.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Lead initiatives to promote sustainable farming practices, including water conservation, organic farming methods, and waste reduction.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on crop performance, soil conditions, pest and disease management, and other relevant agronomic data.
- Compliance: Ensure all farming practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards for food safety and environmental protection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agronomy, with a focus on Asian produce REQUIRED.
- Deep understanding of the cultivation requirements for a wide range of Asian vegetables and fruits.
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and integrated pest management.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with agricultural data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor farm staff.
- Proficiency in using agricultural software and tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
