PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - FAMILY MEDICINE
 

SITE OF SERVICE: 

• 88th Medical Group, Wright Patterson AFB
• Full Time

• Degree:  Bachelor's degree.
• Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• Experience:
• • Shall have practiced as a Physician Assistant-Family Medicine for 2 years within the last 4 years.
  • Worked in adult healthcare as a Primary Care Manager in a Primary Care Outpatient Clinic setting.
  • Prior experience with an Electronic Medical Record system and Microsoft programs is highly desirable.
  • As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification:
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on course through American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • DEA license is required
• U.S Citizenship: Health Care Workers performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
• English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
• Health Care Worker Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

• Hours:
  • Monday through Friday 0730-1630 Outpatient
  • Schedules will be posted 4-6 months in advance.
  • Health Care Workers are required to project absences a minimum of 60 days in advance.
  • Schedule changes within a 60 day window require completion of the clinic schedule change request form.
• Description:
  • Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects.  Flexible and able to work with various personalities.  Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
