Position Description
Ammunition Supply and Logistics Specialist will assist with planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive life-cycle support for ammunition supply and logistics.  Provide support for program office meetings to include execution and monitoring of supply chain activities such as automated record maintenance, accountable property supply record, Total Item Property Record reconciliations, quarterly ammunition transaction data reconciliation, Military Standard Requisitioning, and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) data, and quarterly valuation of ammunition inventories.  Additionally, support maintenance of key supporting document control processes, automated record maintenance, drafting letters of explanations, and responses to Notices of Findings and Recommendations and assist in pricing and cost analysis techniques to assure the program m office is receiving the best value for its budgeting analysis, ammunition cost estimating, and financial traceability.  This position requires eight years’ experience in the ammunition supply and logistics field with a bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of experience in the ammunition supply and logistics field.

Responsibilities
  • Have a basic understanding and application of supply chain management and ammunition inventory management
  • Review and provide comments from a logistics perspective on materials in support of program management reviews, systems engineering technical reviews, independent logistics assessments, and other Program Office review requirements
  • Analytical work to support ammunition material management (planning, provisioning, requirements, acquisition, distribution, accountability, issuance and disposal)
  • Analyze maintenance of continuous Accountable Property Supply Record to Total Item Property Record reconciliations of Army and Navy-held Marine Corps conventional ground ammunition including reconciliation of book to book once a quarter
  • Quarterly ammunition transaction data reconciliation (production receipts, issuances, transfers, condition code changes, losses/gains, expenditures) in support of roll-forward Valuation Reporting as well as support for quarterly valuation of ammunition inventories
  • Support for maintenance of Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) data, including information exchange, coding and reconciliation
  • Draft responses to Notices of Findings and Recommendations
  • Participate in PM Ammo meetings as necessary to provide guidance and recommendations as requested. Develop meeting agendas and announcements and obtain meeting venues, prepare presentations, record and track action items, and record meeting minutes and notes
  • Analyze and evaluate training systems, subsystems, embedded training devices, job aids, curriculum, interactive multimedia instructions and simulations in accordance with DoD, DoN, and USMC policies, processes, and technical standards
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information and express ideas effectively.  Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, writing and analytical skills to effectively interact with program specialists and Government officials
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs and a working knowledge of MS Office suite or similar software

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum of eight years of experience in Marine Corps or other service ammunition, supply, and/or logistics programs or ten years’ experience with High School Diploma. 
  • Experience in Marine Corps ammunition logistics and Marine Ammunition Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Training Ammunition Management Information System including inventory analysis is preferred.  
  • Knowledge of Ordnance Information System-Marine Corps is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Marine Corps’ Risk Management process.
  • Knowledge and use of Configuration Management Tools desired.

Security Clearance Requirements
Personnel requiring access to U.S. Government CUI shall possess a completed background investigation (minimum of a T-1/NACI) for this Public Trust Position.
