Project Estimator

Lumber Plus is a progressive new lumberyard. Our rapid and robust growth requires additional personnel to bolster our operations on the ground.

We are currently seeking an project estimator with experience in the greater Boston area and beyond, to join our growing team.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Sagamore Beach, MA for a Project Estimator. The Project Estimator will be responsible for cost management, construction estimating, project estimation, budgeting, and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Lumber Plus professionally with customers and prospects in your specific account assignments
• Assist the sales team as necessary and develop a strong and positive working relationship with the team
• Use the HubSpot CRM system to record activities and facilitate transactional follow-up in compliance with company guidelines
• Demonstrate a competent understanding of spec sheets, and submittal requirements for your customers on their key job sites

• Cost Management, Construction Estimating, and Project Estimation skills
• Budgeting and Financial Analysis skills
• Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a fast pace, high-pressure environment.
• Must be goal-oriented, have personal integrity, and have a sense of urgency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Answers incoming calls for the department.
• Must be organized with good time management skills.
• Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Maintains excellent regular attendance, and punctuality at work to ensure a high-quality and timely response for customers.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
• Must be able to bend and lift 50lbs
• Must be able to sit and work in front of a computer for an extended period of time
• Must have a valid driver’s license; driver background check must show a record of sustained safe driving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in CRM platform (i.e. HubSpot) a PLUS
• Experience in the construction industry is a PLUS

Education/Experience:

• 2 years experience in building material sales.
• Experience in the lumber industry is a PLUS.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S
