The Role

Provide expert technical Platform Engineering direction in the analysis of multiple and complex systems at the enterprise architecture level. Participate in the direction of future technology architecture and strategy. Develop and maintain business systems and corporate architectures. Review and research complex technology and system assessments for Platform Engineering architecture. Applies advanced engineering and network principles, theories, concepts and technologies to solve unusually complex problems and issues.

The Main Responsibilities

• Leads the development, evaluation and implementation of new and innovative principles, processes and applications.
• Exercises considerable latitude in decision-making under limited consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets.
• Troubleshoot issues within complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems, middleware and protocol suites.
• Resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms.
• Configures systems to user environments.
• Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services. Regarded as subject matter expert in applied research, development, and design of new products.
• Acts as primary consultant to leadership detailing the technical requirements and specifications necessary to obtain solutions.
• May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.
• Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.
• Requires limited direction and guidance with most tasks.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
• 3 years' experience with software engineering/development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a Hybrid Multi Cloud (Private and Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS public cloud)
• Experience with Unix/Linux (shell), Windows Server and scripting
• Experience leveraging Git based (GitHub) source control including feature branching strategies
• Has experience evaluating, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of tools
• Track record of fast learning and adaption to the new technology and environment
• Communicate effectively across internal and external organizations, with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Flexibility and ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail oriented
• Ability to assess technical project's needs and develop action plans

Preferred
• Familiar with Terraform
• Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices
• Experience operating, designing, and building large scale, production grade, systems
• Infrastructure Automation Pipelines using DevOps tools / technologies like Ansible, Salt Stack, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Python scripts.
• Experience with Microservices technologies (such as OpenShift or Kubernetes or Rancher)
• OS / Misc. technologies - VMware ESX, Linux, Windows, Solaris, HashiCorp Vault
• Experience with Apache HTTP Web Server, and Tomcat/JWS, Wildfly/EAP.
• Expertise with automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate, and key management
• Experience one or more languages, such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C , or similar

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
