As a systems engineer at Lunar, you will be responsible for delivering functioning home electrification systems as the engineering customer for all of Lunar’s solar hardware and software components. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about decarbonizing residential buildings and building a more sustainable future. An ideal candidate is both collaborative and able to work independently, bringing both creativity and rigor to our systems engineering efforts.
We are currently recruiting several Systems Engineers with different areas of focus and core expertise. These areas of focus include power electronics, battery management, and photovoltaic systems.
In this role, you will:
Act as a cross-functional lead across engineering disciplines to bring core Lunar functionality to life.
Develop requirements for Lunar hardware and software components.
Serve as the integration “customer” for development hardware and software by developing the methodologies to assure that components deliver on requirements.
Perform system-level trade studies to refine system architecture and design parameters to co-optimize for efficiency, cost, and reliability.
Support the development of novel algorithms, controls strategies, and HW designs to achieve system-level functionality and customer-facing features.
Support compliance efforts via requirement traceability and verification.
About you:
Educational background in electrical engineering or applied sciences.
Extensive experience working with photovoltaic systems, battery systems, and/or power electronics Strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
Experience working as a systems engineer, spanning firmware, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
Experience developing and analyzing system control strategies and state machines.
Nice to have: experience developing system models and simulations (simulink, PLECs, or equivalent).
