Position Summary:
The HEOR Analyst is responsible for designing, programming and conducting analyses using real-world evidence databases. The objectives of those analyses are to meet the business evidence strategy needs across Lundbeck’s portfolio. In particular, this role will analyze US claims databases to derive insights for pipeline compound and demonstrate the value of inline products. For each project, you will work under the supervision of a project sponsor (a Value Evidence Analytics Specialist or a Real-Word Evidence Specialist). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams that can include Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, or Marketing. You will work closely with Medical Experts in order to publish analyses in peer-reviewed publications to fulfill evidence gap.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement observational research studies that fill evidence gaps to support launch products. In particular, execute Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) to contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
Run exploratory analyses to closing evidence gaps for pipeline products for clinical portfolio decisions.
Conduct ad hoc projects, as needed, to support Global Value Evidence and Patients Insights function.
Translate analyses results into insights that can be understood by non-Health-Service research experts. In particular, develop visual displays of results to create user-friendly outputs and tools.
Identify any potential data issues and resolve them with data providers.
Run quality assurance and check analyses to ensure the scientific rigor of Lundbeck’s publications derived from the analyses.
Follow internal standard operating procedures (SOP) and best practices guidelines when conducting studies.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Accredited Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, economics, computer sciences, data science, statistics, epidemiology) with 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex databases. In particular, ability to clean and manipulate databases (filtering, merging, grouping, summarizing data) are a key component of the position.
Demonstrated ability to run statistics (summary statistics but also advanced statistical models)
Skilled in identifying and dealing with potential challenges in the raw data (e.g., outliers and missing data identification, etc.).
Strong quantitative and programming skills (SAS or R preferred or STATA).
Critical thinking required to identify potential confounding in real-world analyses.
Collaborative, curious, and creative mind with an ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills with ability to translate analyses into insights for non-data specialists.
Structured thinking with excellent process and project management skills required including the ability to manage a significant volume of projects.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD)
Prior experience managing claims databases
Machine learning knowledge (supervised, unsupervised learning) in a healthcare setting
Prior scientific publication in peer-reviewed journals
Travel Requirements
Domestic travel: 5-10 days per year (to attend conferences or trainings)
