POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Supervisor for Mental Health Promotion and Prevention
(MHPP) is responsible for the direct supervision of staff and ensuring that program goals and objectives are met while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulations. MHPP provides services to refugee communities (and other culturally-specific, eligible communities) for mental health promotion and prevention, community-level emotional wellness education and group supports, healthcare navigation addressing social determinants of health, as well as encouraging and supporting community outreach and engagement efforts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain compliance with all relevant program/department requirements, including and not limited to adhering to all record-keeping and reporting requirements.
- Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members and facilitate development of a positive staff support network.
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served.
- Submit all necessary and required paperwork for referral, collaboration and/or communication with funders, community partners and internal department collaboration
- Recruit, train, mentor, coach and support growth of staff; effectively manage individual and team performance
- Clearly, concisely, and respectfully set and communicate expectations for staff in alignment with program objectives and required outcomes, establish appropriate deadlines and performance metrics, assign tasks and motivate staff to achieve goals, monitor progress and adjust strategy as needed
- Perform administrative management tasks including and not limited to scheduling, and expense management, reporting, and ensuring compliance with LCSNW and applicable external agency/partner requirements
- Abide and encourage staff to follow humanitarian principles and accountability to the communities we serve
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: Oversees entry level non-behavioral health and non-social work jobs with varying education requirements, most often HS Diploma or Bachelors level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Work well under pressure and work effectively in a multicultural setting, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Successfully lead, mentor and develop people and teams. Provide constructive feedback and coaching and effectively navigate challenging situations/conflict. Effectively manage a team that is hybrid and/or fully remote. General experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Transportation: This position requires reliable transportation for business purposes, such as
between work locations and community settings, driving clients in a personal and/or agency
vehicle, and for driving self/other staff in an agency vehicle and/or agency rental vehicle
Language Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in
English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, professionals, and/or the general public. Ability to effectively write reports, business correspondence, and process documents.
Clearance: Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender. Motor vehicle
records, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Location: This position functions as a hybrid position, with 40% of time anticipated to be
on site. This position works in a variety of settings, including LCSNW office location(s), client home/community settings, partner agency and community-based settings, and faith-based settings such as churches.
Hours: This position follows standard business hours all or most of the time but may require moderate flexibility of hours including some evenings and/or weekends.
