THE ROLE: The Site Supervisor for A Family Gathering Place (AFGP) Relief Nursery provides supervision to teacher/interventionists in the therapeutic early childhood program and Outreach services. Provides assistance to staff in crisis and emergency situations. Coordinates child care workers for parent classes, respite sessions and other events, including evening work. Coordinates reporting to certifying and licensing agencies and maintains records and standards necessary for annual certifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Site Supervisor Functions:
● Attend to daily operational/facility needs in cooperation with program management
● Monitor the therapeutic early childhood classroom on-site a minimum of 50% of AFGP programming time (M/W/TH/F from 9:30am-12:30pm and at least 1x a month for respite services)
● Meet with AFGP Leadership Team to ensure collaboration and supervision of program
● Attend state or local meetings as requested by the AFGP Program Manager
● Act as main point of contact and substitute for teachers and volunteers
● Oversee the coordination and upkeep of the on-site Family Resources Room
(Diapers & Wipes Bank, Food Pantry & Clothing Closet) in collaboration with assigned staff
● Make referrals to other agencies when appropriate and respond to all referrals via the screening and enrollment process in a timely fashion
● Maintain standards and complete quarterly reports required by certifying agencies including:
○ State of Oregon’s Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC)
○ Oregon Association of Relief Nurseries (OARN)
Operational Functions:
● Order and deliver site-specific supplies through standard agency process ● Perform general administrative tasks
● Ensure opening and closing safety procedures are adhered to
● Adhere to safety guidelines and take an active role in ensuring the safety of site staff ● Work with the Program Manager and/or vendor to ensure the facility is cleaned appropriately and on schedule
● Work with Program Manager on the placement and supervision of site-related interns and volunteers
● Work with Program Manager to provide staff introductions and facility walk-throughs for new hires
● Review and forward invoices to Program Manager in a timely manner ● Greet clients/visitors and route incoming calls and emails as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible for the site supervision of the teacher/interventionists in the therapeutic early childhood program (classroom) and Outreach services, as well as classroom support staff.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: This position interacts with a variety of public and private community organizations, agencies, and communities. Positive, clear, and accurate communication skills are of utmost importance. This position requires the ability to deal effectively with families, clients, staff members, and the general public. ● Requires strict adherence of HIPAA standards in the office workspace to ensure client confidentiality
● Have an ORO score of 10 or higher
● Ability to pass multiple background checks; Central Registry (CBR) and ORCHARDS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or another related field is preferred. Two years of experience in an early childhood program working with children and families, including home visitation duties is required.
