LSSI is hiring afull-timeTherapeutic Foster Care Resource Worker.As a member of theTFCteam, takes the lead in recruitment, training and support of foster parents who will become therapeutic foster families. Will ensure that foster parent services are implemented following an evidence-based model of treatment foster care for children and their families using a trauma-informed approach.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to recruit, with the TFC team members, an adequate number of foster families to fulfill the placement and respite goals of the program.
  • Ensures all components of the evidenced-based model used by the program are in place in the foster homes and foster services maintain the model with fidelity.
  • Schedules and delivers TFCO training to newly recruited foster parents. May deliver individual training or refresher sessions with foster parents as needed to keep them on model.
  • Completes parent daily report calls (PDR) with foster families, entering the data in Focus and with fidelity to the model. May serve as back-up if primary responsibility is assigned elsewhere.
  • Co-leads weekly Foster Parent Support and Training meetings, ensuring all documentation is submitted to the TFCO Consultants.
  • Completes and submits all other agency required reports related to recruitment and training activities, including keeping the agency database/tracking sheets updated.
  • Participates in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, service planning and intervention. Present cases for staffing or participate in staffings as needed, including weekly team meetings.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Social Services or other related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate foster parents to participate and adhere to a highly detailed treatment model.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services using a team approach.
  • Has DCFS Child Welfare Employee Licensure (CWEL), 402, CCA certifications or ability to obtain these and perform all needed foster parent licensing duties.
  • Training in Treatment Foster Care of Oregon (TFCO) model, or available to participate in TFCO training after hired.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance required. Access to transportation for recruitment events, home visits, and meetings.
