Description

LSS Aspen Center, which offers both medically monitored inpatient residential care as well as transitional residential treatment, is currently seeking a Program Supervisor - Residential Treatment to join the Aspen leadership team as a Co-Supervisor. Aspen Center is a comprehensive substance abuse disorder treatment facility in Waukesha, WI committed to helping residents move into sustainable recovery. Services include a full range of DHS 75 and DHS 83 license requirements and include a trauma informed approach, with gender specific services for men. Our beautiful facility provides an environment that, combined with the passion for the SUD field of our team members, allows residents to experience meaningful change and hope.

This role would share the day-to-day responsibilities of the program to include program operations, direct supervision of staff, ensuring best practices and licensing/contractual requirements are met.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Serves as a representative of the agency to internal and external customers regarding the work of programs and services.
  • Works as a collaborative team member to support the Continuum of Care model.
  • Participates in the compilation of an annual budget.
  • Oversees budget expenditures and makes necessary adjustments as needed to meet the financial goals of the program.
  • Ensures quality programming through the use of best practice standards and contract/licensing requirements. Including administration of basic first aid as needed.
  • Provides quality reviews of serious incidents in a timely manner.
  • Identifies staff training needs to meet best practice standards and licensing/contract requirements. Collaborates with Training Coordinator to assure all requirements are being met.
  • Ensures staff is trained to meet identified standards.
  • Establishes priorities and directs the work of program staff.
  • May provide direct care and/or carry a case load.
  • Facilitates or co-facilitates psycho-educational groups, along with family co-therapy as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Selects, trains, assigns, coaches and evaluates staff members.
  • Supports day-to-day functioning of the program staff to ensure timely implementation and quality of the agency goals and strategies.
  • Ensures communication and implementation of agency-wide policies and procedures to program staff.
  • Schedules and facilitates staff meetings on an ongoing basis.
  • Partners with program manager to respectfully address and resolve human capital issues including promotion, coaching and other performance matters.
  • Ensures effective use of human capital to meet best practice standards as well as ensure individual and staff safety.
  • Acts as a role model for employees to exemplify how to be an LSS Employee of Choice.
  • Understands and communicates LSS mission, vision, values and best practice to staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field and at least 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a similar role working in social services or closely related field is required. Experience should include three years working with a similar population. Supervisory experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field is strongly preferred, as is certification in AODA, Education, Trauma Curriculum or related treatment component.

  • Considerable knowledge of the operation and purpose of a residential care facility and of related care, treatment, recreation and security programs used in such a facility.
  • Ability to write and document client and other notes and documentation in a clear and legible format, including content, spelling, grammar, etc.
  • Working knowledge of children with an array of emotional and behavioral challenges including RAD.
  • Ability to remain client focused while adhering to Residential Facility standards.
  • Working knowledge of Wraparound, Residential care, and Case Management.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.
  • Licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor preferred, Substance Abuse Counselor - In Training required through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate both in verbal and written format, effectively and efficiently in job. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general correspondence and paperwork. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.


COMPUTER SKILLS/TECHNOLOGY:
Working knowledge of computers to allow employee to access computer systems and applications to complete timecards, read and respond to email, and complete required on-line training. This position will require knowledge of the Microsoft Suite applications, and be able to create documents, presentations and spreadsheets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job allows the employee to vary physical position or activity for comfort and may be required to stand and /or walk for 8 hours or longer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (34% to 66% of the time) required to stand, sit, talk, hear, twist, fine manipulation, fingering and lift up to 10 lbs. In addition the worker is occasionally (1% to 33% of the time) required to between 11lbs and 50 lbs, Bend, Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, Reach above shoulder height and below, grasp and handle objects. The worker is rarely (less than 1% of the time) required to pull /push up to 50 lbs, operate foot controls or lift over 51 lbs during an emergency only. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboarding is required for this position.

This position may work in both an office environment and the program(s) it oversees. Must be willing to work from multiple locations; will also be exposed to outdoor weather conditions when traveling on company business.

May occasionally be exposed to chemical fumes such as paint and carpet cleaning. May enter client's dwellings or programs and be exposed to smoke and common household allergens such as dust, mildew and pets.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

TRAVEL: Position may travel daily between programs. May travel over the two state area on occasion for training and meetings and may include some overnights.
