MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES & COMPETENCIES
- Work with fellow warehouse operators to remove barrels from or store barrels into warehouse.
- Load and unload flatbed or box trailer with empty barrels being received or shipped to offsite storage.
- Operate various machines in the filling and dumping of barrels.
- Coordinate barrel movement throughout the warehousing operation to insure that operation has the right barrels (type, cooperage, etc.) for product being produced.
- Assist maintenance personnel in the repair of equipment by shutting off, isolating, draining, and testing of equipment.
- Convey problems or potential problems to supervision.
- Generate and/or maintain warehouse operations paperwork.
SKILLS REQUIRED & TYPICAL DUTIES
- Perform basic arithmetic; i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percent.
- Must be able to move 500 lb. barrels with minimal assistance. Must be able to lift in excess of 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Must be able to climb into and out of barrel rack storage and work in high and/or narrow work spaces.
- Assist with the education and training of replacement operators.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required, including full-face respirators, fall protection, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting in excess of 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Physical mobility: extensive walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping throughout entire shift.
- Standing for long periods, up to 6 hours.
- Ability to work in dusty conditions.
- Physical dexterity: Use of mechanical tools that require precision (cutting, wrenches, etc.)
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to endure exposure to high heat and cold throughout entire shift.
