Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Education - Formal study beyond high school, or equivalent combination of education and work related training preferred
- Experience - Three (3) years appropriate office experience, preferably in Financial Aid
- Skills - Ability to communicate and relate to students, parents, staff and agencies; knowledge in the use of computers
Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and provides direction; disseminates information to students regarding federal, state and veteran financial aid and scholarships; disseminates information to Veterans regarding payment and benefit information; provides assistance to students and parents as required in the application process and review the application for accuracy and completeness; direct students to proper financial aid advisor for complex questions and eligibility issues; utilizes the College's Ellucian and Pheaa system to access federal and state financial aid information on individual students; assists in the financial aid verification process including verification of students and parents income and asset information; review changes to and maintain working knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to verification and awarding procedures; assist in the review of academic progress for both federal and state aid and advise students how to maintain required satisfactory progress; assist in the determination of federal and state financial aid eligibility and produce financial aid award letters; data entry of documentation into Ellucian; places outgoing calls and schedules appointments; verifies student address' for skip trace to various lenders and guarantee agencies; generates letters through missing student information documentation process; sign withdrawal forms and provides direction when necessary; requisitions office supplies and printing materials; assist with the electronic loan certification process and support processing of loan letters and requests to students; assist with the determination of loan eligibility and certify loans and PLUS loans; assist with notifying graduating or transfer students of exit counseling requirements for Stafford loans; assist with open house as directed; assist with reconciling PELL grants including the determination of eligibility and submits to Director for approval; sign withdrawal forms; accept students paperwork including military forms for processing of veterans benefits; process and maintain veteran records including verification of enrollment and the processing of educational assistant program thru on-line veteran system; process and maintain Educational Assistance Program (EAP) grant including verification of enrollment and tuition charges; support the implementation of the work study program following required procedures and policies; responsible for the placement of work study students; coordinates the work-study payroll; sorts and routes incoming mail; interview, train and supervise work study students.
Entry Salary: $27,800.00/annualStandard Work Week: 35 hours
