What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard position at Luzerne Music Center?
Luzerne Music Center (LMC) is a summer music camp running from mid-June to mid-August each summer. As an overnight security guard, you will play a role in ensuring the safety and security of the campus during the nighttime hours. The primary responsibility will be to maintain vigilant presence and provide a sense of security to campers and staff throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular patrols of the grounds, including activity areas, buildings, and common spaces. Remain alert and vigilant to promptly identify and respond to any unusual or suspicious activity.
Access Control: Control access to the camp premises by monitoring entry and exit points and ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access.
Emergency Response: Act as the first responder in case of emergencies, such as medical incidents, accidents, or fire alarms. Follow established protocols to promptly and efficiently address the situation, provide assistance, and communicate with appropriate authorities when necessary.
Incident Reporting: Document any security incidents or disturbances in reports. Notify the camp management and appropriate personnel about incidents that require attention or further investigation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred.
- Strong observational skills with an ability to identify and respond to potential security risks.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with campers, staff, and visitors effectively.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations and make quick decisions.
- Ability to walk, stand, and patrol the campgrounds.
- Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends
