AREA SUPERVISOR-GJL Farms
Full Time, Northeast Iowa West Union, Cresco New Hampton Vicinities
SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing and directing the overall operation of multiple grow finish sites within a specific geographic area. This includes leading and motivating finishing site managers and employees while overseeing the operation of the farms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor the status of the farms and the employees
- Provide support, guidance, and feedback to all finishing site managers through daily communication
- Scheduling and communicating necessary pig flow and marketing information to all farms
- Set and communicate production and financial targets to all farms and employees
- Ensuring the health and well-being of all animals in terms of nutrition, medication, and environment
- Develop and monitor adherence to all standard operating procedures and training regimens
- Develop and communicate all biosecurity rules and practices
- Communicate regularly with upper management and/or farm owners
- Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of finishing site management
- Organizational, leadership, production problem solving, and communication skills
- Dedicated, goal oriented, motivated, and able to work independently, as well as effectively lead a team
- Maintain certification and follow all PQA Guidelines in the Humane Handling of Livestock
