Lynden Sheet Metal is a heating, plumbing, refrigeration and metal fabrication business that has been serving Whatcom County for over 82 years. We are looking to add a receptionist - customer service assistant to our awesome team of people.
Job Duties:
- Answer incoming phone calls, determine the purpose of callers, and forward to appropriate personnel and departments.
- Greet customers and determine nature and purpose of their visit. This will include getting parts or assisting customers in our showroom.
- Enter service tickets into computer system.
- Receive payments and handle sales transactions that happen over the counter.
- Provide general office support and assist in various tasks as needed by department heads or HR.
- Assist with Social Media posts.
- Tidy and maintain reception area.
Job Requirements:
- This is a busy office and can be extremely busy when the weather is cold or very hot. Must be able to deal with a high volume of calls and the stress that can bring.
- As our receptionist, you will be the first impression of our company. You need to be able to handle yourself professionally in a variety of situations.
- Must be able to clearly and accurately communicate.
- Proficiency with Office 365, particularly Excel and Word.
- Be able to work with several people in the same office space.
- Must be able to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Be dependable and punctual to work.
- Willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to take a pager rotation consisting of answering after hour calls, 1 week out of every 8. Will need to have decent internet access at your home.
- Must have a good driving record, as you will need to occasionally drive company vehicles for errands.
- Need to have 1 year minimum of previous reception or office work.
- We are a drug free workplace. Must be able to pass drug screening, including marijuana.
Position is 32-40 hours per week. Mostly at the 40 hour range.
