Systems Engineer 1 (PE)

Position Summary

This position, located in Tysons, Virginia or Annapolis Junction, Maryland will work with a dynamic team of Engineers, System Programmers and Technicians responsible for installing and commissioning electronic security and CCTV systems. General responsibilities include assisting with the completion of designs through documentation of as-built conditions. Essential / Specific Responsibilities and Activities Include but are Not Limited to:

• Completing device take-offs from construction drawings
• Assisting with site surveys to collect data on existing conditions for existing and buildings under construction
• Assisting with the preparation of bids from drawing take-offs or surveys
• Assisting with the preparation of written Scope of Work documents
• Completing designs to include CAD floor plans, and elevation drawings, power calculations etc.
• Preparing documentation for programming and testing
• Completing documentation in internal project tracking system

Position / Candidate Requirements

• Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to Obtain a TS/SCI w/ a Polygraph.
• Education: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Engineering Discipline.
  • Bachelor's Degree and preferably at least 1 years of experience, as stated below or 
  • Masters’ Degree and preferably at least 1 years of experience, as stated below
•   Required Experience:
  • Hands on experience with computer networks
  • Hands on experience with electronics
  • Working in a team environment
  • Time management
• Required Certifications: None
• Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills with the ability and experience communicating directly with executive leadership.
• Demonstrated background working with Strong Oral and Written Communications Skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Skills is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications (the following are not required, but advantageous)

• Knowledge of AutoCad

• Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.

• Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
• Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
