SUMMARY
The Quality Control Technician at M.C.I Foods, Inc. is a hands-on leader of quality control; direct responsibility for assuring received goods & work in-process and finish product meets specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure on a daily basis that all Quality Control policies and procedures are followed.
Must ensure that all products are in compliance with USDA and Company Specifications.
Must be able to recognize any violation of HACCP, GMP, quality, sanitation and food safety procedures and make immediate correction to any unacceptable situation or condition.
Ensures adherence to CN and Commodity Processing (PCCP)Programs.
Must insure that all inbound raw materials are properly received in accordance with the Quality Control department’s processes.
Accurate record keeping of receiving, in-process, and finished product inspections.
Inspects, tests, weighs raw materials and finished products.
Ensures compliance with net weight program.
Inventory control, labeling, and assurance of component/product trace ability.
Ensures Raw Material always has a lot number and label.
Monthly reporting on incoming and outgoing quality inspection activities.
Records inspection data in various logs and notifies supervisor of irregularities.
Interaction with all levels of management and technical staff on matters of quality.
Responsible for monitoring the micro-finished product program and assure the implementation of the Hold/Release policy.
May assist in assigning lot numbers to products and record product information.
Entering data in the computer.
Other duties associated with quality assurance and control.
EXPERIENCE
2 years food manufacturing experience minimum. High school or equivalent. Should be able to read English. Knowledge of mathematics and computer (word, excel, etc).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Production area (Processing area)
Working around equipment and machinery, manual and electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
Must be able to work in cold (less than 40 F) and hot (up to 100F) very humid environments
Exposed to machinery noise, less than 80db.
TRAINING REQUIRED
New Associate training in M.C.I Foods, Inc. Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Control requirements regarding Food safety and acceptable employee behavior practices.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Constantly Stands
Occasional Walking, Bending, Twisting and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
Constant use of Right &Left Arms
Carrying 0 lbs to 10 lbs occasional for a distance of 15ft, 30 ft. must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
