We are looking for a full-time Body Shop Painter to join our team. The purpose of this role is to prep and paint trucks/trailers.
Job Responsibilities
Work with Estimator, Service Writer and Body Shop Manager to review damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan work to be performed.
Responsible for prep, sanding vehicle surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats.
Select paint and match colors of paint following specified color charts.
Mix paints to match color specifications or vehicles' original colors, then stir and thin the paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment.
Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.
Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings.
Remove accessories from vehicles, such as chrome or mirrors, and mask other surfaces with tape or paper in order to protect them from paint.
Responsible for accurately documenting all work performed and paint, supplies & parts used.

Experience:
1 year of hands-on automotive/commercial paint experience and/or technical school graduate.
Experience with Mitchell and or paint software experience is preferred but not required.
Must own a basic set of tools.
Experience documenting all aspects of the repair and paint process.
