- 2nd (M-F 4:30p-1:00a)
- Weekends/Over-Time when needed

Job Summary: The Forklift Driver works with Supervisor coordinating warehouse activities, including housekeeping. Other duties may be assigned. Reads and follows work instructions. Drives industrial forklift equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products and materials, as well as in the warehouse and production, by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Receives items for shipment, inspects visually for identity, quantity, and condition. Checks for obvious damage and segregates items requiring special handling.
- Opens containers as directed by work instructions or supervisor.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or with forklift or other handling equipment.
- Loads materials into carrier vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or logistic bars padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Completes receiving and shipping documents accurately and completely per company specifications with the scan gun.
- Counts, weights, and records number of units of materials moved or handled in PTI System.
- Ensures proper identification. Identifies all shipments by proper marking and labeling, including special handling instructions.
- Coordinates transportation requirements. Coordinates any special handling problems. Gathers data for preparing reports.
- Warehouses and stores inbound and outbound cargo awaiting processing and/or onward movement. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together as direct per work instructions.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment. Conducts safety and equipment checks daily.
- Operates machinery such as banding, taping, and sealing.
- Follows all safety procedures. Actively works to improve individual and center safety record.
- Actively works for continuous quality improvement.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.
- Material Handlers will count and use scales to verify part qualities
- Place product in proper locations
- Perform daily cycle counts
- Use work orders to pull parts for assemblers
- Create labels to identify product
- Work safely and responsibly and follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor service maintenance
- Moving palletized materials throughout the storage facility
- Installs and re-supplies as necessary rolls of bagging film, rolls of stretch wrap, top sheet, pallets, bottom sheet, labels, and other consumables as needed.
- Follow shipping instructions and load trucks with proper materials to complete orders
- Move & stack pallets in the correct storage areas
- Lift and carry boards between pallets while stacking
- Align pallet stacks vertically and safely
- Ensure bags are not damaged during pallet handling
- Examine bag products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Perform work according to accepted procedures and practices
- Change out propane tanks or fill with diesel fuel depending on the type of forklift
- Keep accurate records of production data
- Communicate all concerns affecting safety, quality, productivity and the work environment to the Supervisor
- Other work as required and assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Minimum 1 year experience in Forklift/Material Handling preferred
- 1 year experience in the Automotive Industry preferred
- Ability to safely operate Forklift equipment required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and coworkers; promote a safe workplace
- Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses
- Must be able to work safely in varying temperatures in production/warehouse workplace and outside year round

Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 3 years of forklift experience in manufacturing
