M1 is looking for an Aviation Safety Official:
Position Description:
- Manages/implements aviation safety programs on the FT Rucker Aviation Maintenance Services program IAW PWS,
FOP/GOP, company, FAA, Army, and AF guidance.
- Reports/investigates aircraft accidents/mishaps to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to help prevent future occurrences.
- Manages the Aviation Safety Programs of CFR Part 145 repair station operations.
- Provides technical support, such as data gathering, training, and correspondence with internal and external customers.
- Develops reports, conducts briefings, provides safety training, conducts quarterly/semiannual safety and stand down meetings as required.
- Maintains accident and incident records, conducts safety audits, maintains the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve safety operations, eliminate mishaps, and protect resources.
- Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
- Ensures compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and company policies relating to aviation safety.
- Ensures sufficient manpower, technical data, tools and equipment are available to meet regulatory requirements.
- Applies Company policy and procedures pertaining to the promotion, training, discipline, and termination of employees.
- Ensures employees possess the qualifications and certifications necessary to perform their jobs.
- Manages an airfield or site as assigned.
- Manages EH&S programs as assigned.
- Duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Five years of aviation safety program management experience, 15 years of in a military aviation environment.
- High School Diploma mandatory; Bachelor Degree in related field required (experience considered).
- Graduate of U.S, Army Aviation Safety Officer Program, Naval and Marine Safety Officer Course, or the USAF Flight SafetyOfficer Course.
- Previous experience in conducting aircraft accident investigations is highly desired. Experience in dealing with Safety law, rules, and regulations is required. Extensive experience in risk management and mitigation is desired.
- Thorough knowledge of aviation safety/accident prevention and experience in the use of DOD, FAA, or NTSB documentation is required.
- Prior experience as an instructor pilot, standardization pilot, and/or instrument flight examiner is desirable. DOD
Aviation Safety Qualification is highly desired.
- Able to obtain/maintain security clearance as required by PWS.
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance, safety, and quality procedures in an Army aviation environment.
- Must possess competent computer skills. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules to ensure contractual requirements are met or exceeded.
