Job Description
To ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe delivery of merchandise to job sites and customers warehouses. Along with helping in the warehouse to receive, store, and distribute material, equipment, and products within the warehouse and branch

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service to customers using clear communication skills
• Perform DOT required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Must be compliant with all CSA 2010 requirements
• Maintain accurate records for submission to Fleet Office
• Ensure safety of vehicle; report all mechanical problems promptly to fleet office
• Ensure safety and proper performance of helpers on company property, job site, and in transit
• Always require the use of proper safety gear
• Follow job site preparation procedures and all operating and safety instructions for conveyor and crane operations as defined in the Safety Policy
• Address property damage or personal injury occurrences immediately, including calling for medical attention, as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding all company products and services
• Inspect loaded truck accuracy of order, compliance with restrictions, and proper securing of load
• Ability to follow written and or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear
• Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
• Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language
• Be proficient in basic math skills
• Must regularly lift and or move 70 pounds
• Must be a team player and be willing and able to work well with fellow employees
• Satisfactory driving record per Company Policy
• Must pass all DOT requirements including physical examination and drug screen
• Team player with good customer service skills
• CDL drivers are subject to DOT random drug and alcohol tests
• Must have reliable transportation to work each day

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 year’s experience driving a commercial motor vehicle
• Operation of a forklift
• Knowledge of Residential and Commercial Roofing, HVAC, and Mechanical Insulation
