$17.60 per hour

SUMMARY: As a Poolside Cocktail Server in our hotel, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food & beverage service to guests lounging by the swimming pool. Your primary duty will be to take and deliver drink orders promptly and courteously, ensuring that guests have an enjoyable and relaxing experience. You will contribute to the overall ambiance of the pool area and uphold the hotel's standards of hospitality and service excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive at the pool area, offering assistance with seating arrangements and providing menus.
• Approach guests proactively to take food & beverage orders, offering suggestions and describing menu specials and cocktail promotions.
• Prepare and serve a variety of food & beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
• Monitor the pool area regularly to identify guests in need of service and respond promptly to their requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the poolside service area, including the bar, serving trays, and surrounding space.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in compliance with hotel policies and legal regulations.
• Anticipate guests' needs and provide additional amenities or services as requested, such as towels or sunscreen.
• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and room charges with attention to detail.
• Collaborate with the Layla Restaurant bartenders, kitchen colleagues and other staff members to coordinate orders, prioritize service, and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Provide assistance and information to guests regarding hotel amenities, local attractions, and other inquiries.
• Ensure that all poolside furniture and amenities are properly sanitized and cleaned.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisor and management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a poolside or outdoor setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and courteously with guests.
• Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages and cocktail preparation, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new drink recipes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively with team members.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and carry trays of food & beverages for extended periods in outdoor weather conditions.
• Certification in responsible food & alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe, food handling, etc.).
• Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as required.

• Exposure to varying outdoor conditions and temperatures is inherent in the role.
