Generator Service Technician

Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and dependable Generator Service Technician at our Fenton, MO location. This person will specialize in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of diesel and natural gas generators in the shop or at local customer job sites in the area.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service and repair of diesel and natural gas generators including engines, controls, switchgear, and generator ends both in house and at customer job sites throughout the local area.
- Service and repair of both the mechanical and electrical side of generator systems.
- Efficient equipment maintenance according to industry and company standards, which includes documentation and preventative maintenance.
- Complete any required documentation, including work-orders, timesheets, warranty claims, etc.
- Keep job site/work area neat, clean, and organized.
- Observe and comply with all company policies and safety standards and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
- Be available on an “on-call” basis.
Qualifications
- Proficient in diesel and natural gas generator service and repair, needed to work on both mechanical and electrical side of generator systems preferred.
- 2 years’ experience preferred providing maintenance and repairs of generator sets, engines, controls, switchgear, and generator ends.
- Working knowledge of transfer switch operation and repair is a plus.
- Experience with industrial air compressor repairs also considered.
- Some travel may be required (up to 100 miles), Company truck provided.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training required.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience servicing and maintenance of construction equipment
