What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Mack Technologies?

Quality technicians are in charge of examining materials and products to check for flaws and deviations from original specifications. They have many responsibilities, including reading specifications and blueprints, making recommendations for adjustments to assembly and production processes, determining whether to accept or reject items, inspecting and testing materials and products, and reporting on inspection results. The QA Technician is responsible for the support of Quality Engineering for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc.  Prefer candidates with Printed Circuit Board Assembly experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support quality and production for data analysis reporting and product support.
  • Prepare routine performance and measurement presentation.
  • First line of support for production for assigned Quality Engineer.
  • Assist Quality Engineer team with NPI activities, i.e. first article
  • Evaluate board/pad repair and signoff on MRR form
  • Report on various performance (e.g. quality/ on-time/ lean) metrics in support of management communication needs
  • Responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards
  • Perform Internal Quality Audits and prepare for external audits.
  • Providing feedback and support to Engineers.
  • Understanding and following all applicable ISO guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform visual aide inspection of printed circuit board assemblies as various stages of the assembly process, utilizing IPC-A-610 Standards, visual aides, BOMs, written procedures and verbal instructions to ensure material is compliant with customer dimensional and cosmetic requirements.
  • Maintain calibration on a variety of electronic equipment to ensure measurement accuracy, precision and quality control across a wide spectrum of instruments
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, equipment and surrounding work space.
  • Participate in Quality Teams as requested.
  • Train and mentor Production Team as required.
  • Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.

Qualifications

  • AS Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline with focus on Quality
  • 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry, electronics preferred
  • Excellence in IPC-610 requirements and the ability to referee
  • Intermediate business tools/applications knowledge (i.e. Email, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, time-management, communication (verbal and written) and technical communication skills.
  • Basic Statistical Process Control knowledge such as XR charts, Paretos, Checklist, and Trend Analysis
  • Understanding of risk management and the utilization of CAPA
  • Understanding of basic electro-mechanical tools (multi-meters, calipers, etc.) and basic hand tools (wrench, torque drivers etc.).
  • Capable of performing job function utilizing written procedures, verbal instructions and visual aids.
  • IPC 7711C/7721C certification a plus
  • Knowledge of computer programs and ability to proactively respond to system generated demands and update records.
  • Knowledge of auditing products and processes.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and quickly with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • ISO 9001 experience a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • US Person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data.
