Reliability Engineer
Job Description:
MACOM is looking for a junior reliability Engineer. This role will
provide the candidate with opportunity for personal growth in a broad array of
semiconductor technologies from discretes to MMICs to multi-chip packages. The
Junior Reliability Engineer (JRE) will conduct the product and package
qualification of MACOM's semiconductor products for Data Center,
Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications (PA, LNA,
Multi-function, Switch/Limiter/Passives, Digital Logic, etc) and
sub-assemblies. This will include draft and execution of the new product
qualification plans, develop test fixtures and/or circuit boards for
environmental tests as required, test measurement set-up and debug. The JRE
will also collect data through device measurements, complete statistical data
analysis and interpretation. The JRE will also assist in failure analysis
of failed samples and contribute to root cause and corrective action
reports.
Required
Skills:
- Able to analyze and present data using standard business tools (e.g. MS Excel, JMP, Minitab). Experience with Python, R, LabVIEW and/or Visual Basic is a plus.
- Experience with test set-ups, basic PCB/PCBA fault finding and hardware debug is a plus.
- Basic understanding of test methodologies in accordance with various standards (JEDEC, MIL-STD, etc.).
- Able to quickly learn environmental stress testing methods including high temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, and ESD, and their related chambers and test systems.
- Basic technical knowledge on RF circuit design and testing, semiconductor physics and device operation.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical results, both through written reports and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Project/Program management skills, particularly, must show initiative and willingness to learn new concepts.
- Problem solving skills - must be capable of analyzing weakly defined situations, ultimately defining the issues and developing long and short-term solutions.
- Ability to effectively rationalize decisions so projects move along to completion.
Education Requirement:
- BS or B Eng. university 4-year program (minimum) with full degree.
- Experience in reliability is a plus, but not necessary.
- Due to ITAR restrictions must be US permanent resident or US citizen.
