Test Technician

FLSA Classification: Hourly Full-Time

Hourly Rate Estimate: Dependent Upon Experience

Reports to: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing extensive tests on products once they are across the production line. This process is to ensure our products meet quality assurance standards and are ready for market distribution. When this person discovers problems or inaccuracies, they will send them back to the manufacturing line for adjustments or repairs. All testing must be documented properly, and significant issues need to be reported to upper management.

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform various electrical testing on a wide range of products to work instructions or other controlled documentation.
  • Utilize Personal Protection Equipment and conduct electrical testing while adhering to all safety standards.
  • Verify products are being manufactured per standard practices, work instructions or other approved manufacturing methods.
  • Provide quality support to all associates and assist their efforts to perform at the highest levels.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain test equipment. May require interfacing with third party calibration resources.
  • Perform testing requirements as a backup for coverages etc.
  • Work collaboratively to continuously improve all aspects of Macro Magnetics product quality, production/testing processes to yield world class customer satisfaction.
  • Aid Engineering to develop, verify, and document new testing methods and procedures.
  • Maintain test records in accordance with Macro Magnetics/ISO-9001 Standards.
  • Assist with development of QMS processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate to create work instructions for testing various Macro Magnetics products.
  • Assist other manufacturing departments as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Experience in product verification and test automation a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to wear Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Must be able to conduct electrical testing safely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
