Job Overview:
The primary role of the Production Control Director (PCD) is to maximize overall facility efficiency by providing labor planning, wave coordination, UPC slotting and ongoing feedback to operations. The role will utilize hourly, shift and daily planning forecasts against actual results to align labor movement, work pace and capacity. In addition to performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Develop and appraise staff effectively.
- Inspire the team by demonstrating a mastery of building relationships that positively impact associate engagement.
- Manage daily labor forecast for all functional areas, allocating labor hours to reflect work content and adjusting rate to trend and Rolling Operational Forecast.
- Driving labor and wave modifications throughout the shift based on changes in work mix, available labor, equipment constraints or integration variances.
- Continuously monitor and provide frequent updates to OVP, PCVP, Operations Directors and Shift Directors regarding actual performance rates versus plan rates, recapping execution versus plan daily.
- Direct and communicate changes in wave strategy based on workload to operations.
- Oversee production managers and wave analyst ability to maintain wave cadence and FIFO processing of customer orders through:
- Restock, replenishment and pick rules adherence
- Induction completion, jackpot percent and rate
- Beumer chute velocity, recirculation rate and footprint management
- Wave strategy changes
- Wave Size
- UPP
- Combinability
- The PCD will also have responsibility for the initial slotting on new items entering into the fulfillment center.
- Demonstrate regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university
- Practice open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
- Knowledge of MS Office is required
Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement:
Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances. In all circumstances, testing must be completed within 24 hours of notification.
