Job Overview:
Macy’s, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the position of PM Co-op. This is an entry level position with responsibilities in project management and related financial management. These responsibilities include budgeting, issuing of commitments and contracts, as well as the coordination of related projects. Candidates will work with project owners, vendors and accounting services to ensure all capital projects and associated paperwork is processed within established standards, policies are followed, projects remain on budget and assets are reported timely and accurately. This includes scope definition, vendor proposal review, and bid analysis. Candidates will also be responsible for budget tracking and project closeout. The position works directly with project team members including facilities executives, regional directors, store technicians and operations managers to develop project framework from inception to completion. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Project management; financial administration and task execution including oversight of multiple projects and facility management vendor coordination.
- Networking and supporting the facility organization as well as partner departments including Stores, Purchasing, Energy, Risk Management, Asset Protection and Operations.
- Management and follow through of financial commitments.
- Coordinate with Facilities team and stores for completion of all facility related store projects, including infrastructure, energy, customer facing, environmental, etc.
- Strategic initiatives to further develop, refine, and improve facilities management operations. • Work with stores, district and regional partners, and vendors.
- Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering and/or related field
- Prior work related experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to define concerns and provide appropriate solutions.
- Fluency in MS Office Suite applications.
- A high comfort level with technology.
- Strong financial and administrative skills.
- Ability to create and ensure accuracy of reports.
- Ability to monitor and maneuver workflow to achieve priorities.

Physical Requirements
