Lead Painter

Madden’s is currently seeking a full time Lead Painter to maintain and beautify our resort buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures and floors, applying tape to protect surfaces.
• Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and repairing holes and cracks.
• Apply latex and oil-based paints and varnishes.
• Finish newly hung drywall, by taping joints and applying joint compound.
• Fix blemishes on walls and ceilings by skim coating and sanding.
• Ensure all areas and equipment is clean at end of day.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Follow all company and government safety guidelines and requirements.
• Oversee the daily work of 1-2 painters. 

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED ; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Demands:

• Frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaches with hands and arms. Regularly climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, stands, walks, sits. Frequently lifts or carries up to 75 pounds.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Effectively use a variety of paint and drywall tools; follow oral and/or written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
• Ability to effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
