What are the responsibilities and job description for the JVG Coach position at Madison County Schools?
POSITION SUMMARY: Madison County Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time “Jobs for Virginia Graduates (JVG)” Coach for Wetsel Middle School. This position will work collaboratively with the special populations job coach at Madison County High School. The goal of this partnership will be to support middle school students who are at risk of failing to meet state standards, thereby impacting their future success in finding high-paying jobs after graduation. The selected candidate will be responsible for coaching students in soft and organizational skills while also building community partnerships to provide high-quality work-based learning experiences for middle school students. The position will entail working closely with teachers of CTE courses, school counselors, and other teachers to promote these experiences. This will further support students transitioning from middle to high school and create stronger academic career plans. This position is a one-year grant-funded position.

- Meet with teachers and other support staff to help plan and implement tutorial and/or mentor services and support for students.
- Assist and help teachers and administrators enhance home/school communication for struggling students.
- Assist in tracking students' academic and social progress receiving personalized support services.
- Facilitate communication between families and teachers as needed.
- Maintains accurate case records and documentation, including the JAG Force Data System.
- Advocates for students during planning meetings at school and with families.
